As professionals in the production and sales of full body harness, we need to understand not only the overall performance of full body harness but also their individual components. 

Fall Protection d ring, as a crucial metal part of the harness, connects to the safety rope, is used to attach lanyards, lifelines, and self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) for fall arrest and fall restraint.   

With its "D" shape,  fall arrest D ring prevents twisting and ensures even load distribution in the event of a fall.

Most fall protection D rings are made of alloy steel, besides we have aluminmun d rings for climbing or rescue harnesses and stainless steel d rings for marine or offshore work.

How many D rings on a body harness?  It depends on the working environment, basic fall arrest need one Dorsal D ring, for ladder climbing or confined space, we need a Dorsal D ring

and a Sternal D ring, for working positioning harness, one Dorsal D ring and two Hip D rings are needed. We may need include 5 or more D-rings on rescue rope access harness.
